Here’s something you never thought of before: Mixing herbs in your margarita. Experimenting with ingredients has never been so fun, has it?

Today, we are going to teach you how to make a margarita with lavender. This recipe is incredibly simple to make, but don’t let its simplicity fool you — this delicious variation of the classic margarita never fails to pack of bunch of flavors.

But before we proceed to teach you how to make this recipe, let’s take a quick look at the list of ingredients that you will need:

2 oz of tequila

1/2 oz of Cointreau

1 oz of lavender simple syrup

1/2 of lime

Sugar

Dried lavender

Note: For best results, this recipe requires a cocktail shaker. If you do not currently own one you can always purchase one online for $30 or so. The latter should pay itself off after you’ve prepared a few more cocktails!

To make a margarita with lavender syrup, begin by combining the tequila, the Cointreau, the simple syrup and the juice of half a lime in a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes while you busy yourself with rimming the outside of margarita glasses with sugar and dried lavender.

Come back to the shaker and shake until the exterior of the shaker has started to frost over, and until the ingredients have been mixed together properly. Strain the content of the shaker into the glasses that have been rimmed with sugar and lavender, serve and enjoy!
